Direct Connect is pleased to announce that we have become the Canadian distributors of a great new product from Athena Allery called Nickel Solution.  This will be very welcome news for those of you that are sensitive to jewellery that contains Nickel and suffer from the annoying allergic reactions that nickel can cause.  Nickel Solution is a kit made up of two components.  The first is Nickel Alert which is a simple brush on test that detects nickel content in any product.  The second component is Nickel Guard which is an easy to apply clear liquid coating that provides a protective barrier between the skin and products such as jewellery.

We have come to learn that one of the most common allergies plaguing people is caused by nickel.  The metal is used in many items we use or come into contact with each day.  Nickel allergy is a very common form of Allergic Contact Dermatitis.  The common characteristics of the allergy are: redness, itching, swelling and hives.

Our magnetic beads are plated with nickel to protect the Neodymium base metal.  We have been working hard to find a way for our customers to enjoy the benefits of the magnets without having to suffer from allergic reaction to the nickel.
